The film is about the Australian Light Horse(part of The ANZACs) and their campaign in Sinai and Palestine during World War I. The highlight of the movie is in the final scene which depicts the Battle of Beersheba(in present day Israel), which is considered the last successful cavalry in history. Although the movie is about World War I, it is quite obvious that it was meant as propaganda to bolster recruitment of the men from “downundah” for World War II. |
