Notes: Director: Otto Preminger; The Exodus, a ship bearing the symbolic moniker, packed with Jewish refugees, survivors of the Holocaust, is on its way to Palestine, The Promised Land, in 1947. Great Britain, which has a mandate over Palestine, considers the jews on board to be illegal immigrants, intercepts the boat on high seas, and forces it to dock in Cyprus, in order to place the passengers in an internment camp. Pictured is the ship leaving Cyprus on its way to Palestine, in front of cheering fellow Jews, after the British Government has a change of heart. |
