| Notes: Director: Eytan Fox; A film about a romantic relationship between two Israeli soldiers, stationed at the Israeli-Lebanese border. The film was very controversial in Israel because it touched upon two painful subject matter. First, it is a story of a secret homosexual love between two Israeli officers, and secondly it touched upon the uneasy sentiment at the time, that perhaps this time young men were forced to risk their lives in a war that many felt wasn’t completely necessary. These may have been the reason the film did not receive any support from the Israeli military during its production. However, it proved to be a popular movie with the general population, and military bases began later on to show screenings of it. |
