| Notes: Director: Seth Kearsley; Adam Sandler wrote, produced, and provided his voice for this animated movie. This Chanukah musical was made to resemble visually, the style of television Christmas holiday specials, except that it centered around Jewish characters during the Chanukah Season. Sort of Sandler’s gift to Jewish kids who felt ignored and forgotten during the Christmas celebrations. This movie was also the occasion for the public at large to get acquainted with Sandler’s hilarious and crazy The Chanukah Song, or at least a version of it, that up to that point was the purview of Saturday Night Live followers, or fanatics familiar with the comedians’ early comedy albums (1994). After this movie the song reached the cult status it enjoys today. |
