| Notes: Director: Pietro Francisci ; While the Old Testament, the oldest document to relate the story of the Queen of Sheba, only mentions a short visit she pays to King Solomon to find out the truth about his legendary wisdom, other traditions also allege a romantic liaison between the two. This Italian production, however, goes a step further and asserts that the union was not with King Solomon at all but with the much younger and way more handsome Prince Rehoboam, his son. There was a total of 8 different films made about the Queen of Sheba, the first being in 1913. This version being the 4th one. |
