The reasons for the ban, by the Hays Code, range from depicting Nazi atrocities to using the word “damned”. The movie that is narrated by Everett Sloane, deals with the lesser known trial and executions of Nazi war criminals that took place in December 1943 Kharkov, then Russia today Ukraine. The trial was the time German personnel had been tried for war crimes. 30,000 innocent civilians have been executed in a variety of methods, half of them were Jews. Mass graves of the victims were discovered prior to the trial. |
